LOVELAND, OH (June 17, 2026) – This Rewind special edition takes us on a slow-speed chase on the Los Angeles highways with a killer during the World Cup held in the US during 1994. (Originally published on Loveland Beacon 6/17/2021) 

The Juice

O.J. Simpson lived a life one cannot make up.

A talented athlete, he was the darling running back of the NFL after graduating from USC in 1968 and receiving the Heisman trophy.  He played for the Buffalo Bills, then the San Francisco 49rers, near where he was born.

He also appeared in numerous movies and was the face of Hertz, flying through airports.

Life was good and O. J. lived a dream life in Los Angeles.  Then everything changed in 1994.  He was charged for killing his ex-wife, Nicole, and her boyfriend.  The famous slow-speed car chase, with him and a buddy in the white Bronco on the Los Angeles freeways, occurred in 1994 on this day.

The subsequent trial was a soap opera seen by many millions globally.  He was found to be not guilty.

A civil trial followed and there he was found guilty and levied a $33.5 million judgement.  He has paid very little of that sum, having moved away from Los Angeles to Florida.  He got in trouble with the law in Las Vegas in 2007, which many believe was a form of payback.  He served about 10 years in prison.   The Juice now lives in Las Vegas.
