Ford
Fix Or Repair Daily. Many folks over a certain age will know this less-than-kind take on the “acronym” of the name of the founder of the Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford.
The Ford Motor Company has improved its quality since the somewhat dark days of the 1970s.
Ford incorporated in 1903 on this day. The Company is credited for inventing and refining the assembly line, which in turn allowed them to make low-cost cars. The Model-T, launched in 1908, benefited from this. Ford has also pioneered vertical integration in its industry.
Ford is headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. It is the number two US automaker, behind General Motors. Ford holds a 14% market share of the crowded US market. It is number five globally in sales.
Have you owned a Ford? Maybe a Galaxy or a Thunderbird? How about the Mustang? Maybe the Bronco, Crown Victoria, or a Five Hundred?
