James Bond, 007.  The first movie of this highly successful secret agent series launched 58 years ago today with the release of Dr. No.

The James Bond character, who is employed the British MI6, was created by Ian Fleming in 1953 while living in Jamaica.  Fittingly, Dr. No takes place in large part on this Caribbean island.

James Bond has been portrayed by seven actors over the years, starting with Sean Connery in Dr. No. How many of the 25 James Bond movies have you seen?

This map of Jamaica, surrounded by vignettes of island scenery and life, is by John Tallis from 1850.
