Not placing first in Ohio in The Stock Market Game, sponsored by the non-profit Alpaugh Family Economics Center, University of Cincinnati – they have done that before. For the first time, the Braves placed first in state in the Elementary division, twice, within the same school year!
“This is a stunning success for all of our students who have participated in this unique learning experience,” said Indian Hill Elementary School Principal Whitney Buell. “We are thrilled to see so many of our students engaged in such a high-level of financial literacy learning.”
The initial first place finish happened during the fall competition. Then, it happened again this spring! Indian Hill Elementary School Braves ranked No. 1 after the 10-week spring game session. The winning students in the spring competition included Carter Compton, Dylan Mikula, and George Herald. Additionally, Indian Hill Elementary School had three other teams score in the top 10 out of 102 schools.
“We are incredibly proud,” said Indian Hill Elementary School Instructional Coach Betsy Gentile Henning, who mentors the young investors. “Our students worked hard and made some great decisions. We are so excited to work with them on this next level of competition.”
All Indian Hill Elementary School winners from both the fall and spring competitions have been invited to compete in the Portfolio Challenge against middle school and high school winners April 25 at the University of Cincinnati.
