LOVELAND, OH (September 30, 2025) – In today’s edition of Fun with Maps, we look back to September 2021 for a special “Rewind Edition” – Live Music & Dance on stage and your TV screen (NOTE: Steve Kovacs is on a family sojourn and will return with all new FWM Friday, October 3, 2025)
THE GOAL FOR ALL COUNTRY SINGERS
Today in 1950, the Grand Ole Opry was televised for the first time. The live show had been a radio staple since 1925.
From its first broadcast until 1974, the Opry was performed in Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. The “new” venue is part of the Opryland complex and holds a much larger audience for the Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday regular shows.
Loveland High School’s 2013 show choir had the honor to perform on the Opry stage and bring the title of Show Choir Nationals champions back to town.
Cram’s 1894 map of the Music City is presented here.
