By Steve Kovacs (Introduction by Chuck Gibson)

LOVELAND, OH (July 17, 2020) – In Issue 30 of Steve Kovacs Fun with Maps feature we’re off to Disneyland.

Steve Kovacs: Having fun at Disneyland? (Provided)

The Happiest Place on Earth

Disneyland opened 65 years ago in Anaheim, California.   Walt Disney thus changed destination family entertainment forever.   On the last count, pre Covid-19, about 745 million people visited the theme park since its opening.  One day adult admission increased from $10.75 in 1981 to $104 in 2019.  That is a lot Pixie Dust!

While Mickey has been a staple character working in the Park in the past 65 years, he apparently does not qualify for Medicare… But, he can be found at the other Disney Theme Parks as well: Disney World in Orlando, in Tokyo, in Paris (formerly Euro Disney), in Hong Kong and in Shanghai.

Which is your favorite Disney Park ride and Disney character? (Tell us, won’t you!)

This Disneyland map is the 40th year commemorative edition.
