LOVELAND, OH (July 17, 2020) – About 50 people spread out on lawn chairs at the Loveland Museum Center (LMC) Wednesday evening, July 15, to hear the soothing sounds of summer jazz.
Jett Stevens, drums, Nate Broelmann, alto sax, Sean Butkovitch, piano, & Simon Grome, bass made up the jazz quartet of ‘Inquire Wtihout’ (Chuck Gibson)
The local jazz quartet “Inquire Without” played a variety of jazz favorites during a little more than 90 minute outdoor concert from the veranda of LMC. Nobody got up and danced on the lawn, but toes tapping and heads bobbing and swaying were clear evidence people enjoyed the jazz ensemble. The evening of entertainment was free to the public courtesy of the Loveland Museum Center. Jim Grethel, LMC President was on hand along with LMC Director Jan Beller.
“I enjoyed it,” said Gary Hehemann, who attended with his wife Carol. “The music was very good. It was nice just to get out of the house.”

The jazz quartet was made up of four Class of 2020 high school graduates led by Jett Stevens on the drums with Nate Broelmann on the Alto Sax, Sean Butkovitch on the piano keyboard, and Simon Grome playing the bass. Folks gave rousing ovations to several different solos performed by each during the concert. All four will be college freshmen during the upcoming school year. Both Butkovich and Grome will be at Ohio State University, while Nate Broelmann is headed to Philadelphia to attend Temple University. Quartet leader Jett Stevens will be studying at the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music.
Some of the crowd brought coolers with snacks and beverages. Some wore masks –even though they were in the open air. There was plenty of room to maintain safe social distancing.
