Five submissions earned highest possible regional recognition and advance to national competition in New York City

Five artistic creations by Indian Hill School District Braves are headed to New York City!
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition released regional results, and 15 Indian Hill students earned 22 accolades. Each year, students in grades seven through 12 have the opportunity to showcase their writing and visual art skills in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Indian Hill High School and Indian Hill Middle School submitted individual works of art in the categories of photography, digital art, painting, and drawing. Five of those works received the Gold Key award, the highest possible regional recognition; those winners advance to the national competition in New York City. Seven works received Silver Key Awards, and another 10 works received Honorable Mention.
“We are incredibly proud of all of our student-artists,” said Indian Hill High School Art Specialist Julie Pfeiffer. “These awards are the result of students both having a vision of what they hope to create and pairing that dream with determination and perseverance to bring that vision to fruition. They are each award-winners in our eyes, and it is wonderful to see their hard work recognized by Scholastic.”
All of the wining artwork will be on display at the Cincinnati Art Academy in February. Results of the national competition will be known in mid-March.
“In addition to the pride we feel for the dedicated artists at Indian Hill Middle School and Indian Hill High School and the faculty members who have mentored those students, we are also grateful to the contributions of the art faculty at Indian Hill Elementary School and Indian Hill Primary School,” said Indian Hill Superintendent Kirk Koennecke. “The art specialists at these buildings provide our younger Braves with a strong foundation to grow in ability and achieve this level of artistic recognition.”
