LOVELAND, OH (July 3, 2025) – Evagoras Papasavvas will be back on familiar ground this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course driving the #24 HMD Motorsports Dallara IL-15 in the INDY NXT by Firestone Championship where he collected a green flag-to- checkered flag victory one year ago while racing in the USF2000 driver development series for the Jay Howard Driver Development team.

This Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio race weekend gets underway with practice Friday, July 4th and will be his fifth INDY NXT start of the 2025 season. Papasavvas transitioned into the INDY NXT series with the HMD Motorsports team this season with plans to make his INDY NXT debut in St. Louis at World Wide Technology Raceway June 15th. After an impressive test session at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, his debut race was moved up to the May 4th Grand Prix of Alabama. He made an impressive debut there racing to a P-2 finish in his first-ever INDY NXT race. The Indianapolis Grand Prix races May 9-10 followed and the 17- year-old Loveland, Ohio native showed his adaptability overcoming a tough starting position making several passes and earning a top-ten finish.

Papasavvas heads into the Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio fresh off a P12 finish at Road America in Wisconsin June 22nd. He was able to move up one position from the #13 spot in the starting grid. Road America also saw his teammate Caio Collet collect the first INDY NXT victory of this2025 racing season for HMD Motorsports. Evagoras looks to make it two in a row for HMD with what would be his third P1 finish at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Following this race weekend, he’ll resume his role as a reserve driver with HMD Motorsports for the rest of the INDY NXT 2025 race season.

(NOTE: Though he is not currently confirmed to start any of the six remaining races on the INDY NXT schedule, that is subject to change.)

For now, Evagoras Papasavvas is fully focused on building on his success at his hometown course in front of hometown fans, friends and family this Fourth of July weekend at Mid-Ohio. Here’s what Evagoras said about racing at Mid-Ohio (his home course) in a story published earlier this week by RTD Media:

“Mid-Ohio is a track I’ve grown up watching and dreaming about racing INDY NXT and INDYCAR on, so getting the chance to compete here with HMD Motorsports is really special,” explained Papasavvas, who has earned multiple victories in lower-level formulas at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. “I’m excited to be back in the car for this event, and I’m ready to make the most of the opportunity in front of my home crowd. I can’t wait to get out there and give it my all.”
