NO PROMISES Vocal Band will perform their celebrated annual Christmas concert

LOVELAND, OH (November 27, 2024) – The much loved “Christmas with No Promises” concert will warm your holiday spirits as this award-winning vocal band bring their heard-warming, family friendly holiday program to St. Columban Church in Loveland, OH Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 7:30 p.m.

St. Columban is the first of four holiday concert tour stops for the group this December. It’s a special stop for one of the newest full-time voices in the group. Joey Pace is a graduate of St. Columban school and currently Director of Choirs at St. Xavier H.S. He is the son of St. Columban parishioners (aka: proud parents) Doug and Janet Pace. His path to the group was by way of barbershop music; he sings with the Southern Gateway Chorus and enjoys producing and publishing multi-track a-cappella recordings.  

Pace joins veteran members of NO PROMISES: Joshua Steele, Kaeden Kass, David Baum, Jeff Grooms, and Nat Comisar. Guest artists Buck Hinman, Paul Phillips and Chancellor Waye will also be performing during this 2024 “Christmas with No Promises” tour. The program at St. Columban is a family-length program running an estimated 60 minutes. No reservations are required, no admission is charged, but a freewill offering will be accepted. The performance is in the St. Columban Church located at 894 Oakland Rd. – Loveland, OH 45140 – Showtime is 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 5th.

Like their visits to St. Columban in past years, this 2024 No Promises Christmas Holiday Concert promises to stoke the fires of your holiday spirit and fill your heart with joyful warmth. They’ll perform seasonal favorites from Joni Mitchell and A Charlie Brown Christmas joined with selections by Andy Williams, the Temptations, *NSYNC and more.

Highlights of this year’s tour include:

Along with Joey Pace, two more outstanding young singers making their Christmas debuts with No Promises.

  • WLWT-TV executive producer Buck Himan is the newest guest artist to NO PROMISES, bringing with him a passion for barbershop-style singing honed through international competition. Recent Xavier University graduate Chancellor Waye is a bass singer who directed of his university’s a cappella group, Harmon-X, on his way to a degree in choral education.

The return of NO PROMISES Christmas favorites. These selections will include:

  • The first post-pandemic performance of Harry Connick, Jr’s. whimsical “I Think I Saw Ol’ Santa.
  • The first public performance since 2015 of NO PROMISES’ lovely and complex “A Charlie Brown Christmas” medley, featuring Vince Guaraldi’s “Skating” and “Christmas Time Is Here.”
  • A re-imagining of the group’s long-time, show-closing ballad “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” featured in the musical MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS and featuring NO PROMISES’ own Broadway veteran, Dr. David Baum.
  • The first “Christmas with No Promises” performance of the group’s “Boy Band Medley,” which debuted with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra featuring hits by *NSYNC, Boyz 2 Men and Cincinnati favorites 98 Degrees. This piece will be performed at the December 18 and 21 programs.

NO PROMISES is a Cincinnati-based professional a cappella ensemble bringing exhilarating vocals and breathtaking harmonizations to jazz and popular music favorites from 1940s classics to today’s jams. Citybeat “Best of Cincinnati” winners in 2017 and 2022, the group has entertained at festivals, concert series, stadiums and performing arts centers throughout the state.

Its members have graced the stages of Broadway, fronted major symphony orchestras, and backed the likes of Jim Messina, Steve Winwood, Kenny Loggins and POCO. In their day-to-day lives, the men of NO PROMISES are clinical psychologists, concert promoters, therapists, choir directors, real estate moguls and hairdressers with a passion for fine a cappella singing.

In 2024, NO PROMISES was honored to make their debut at Great American Ballpark, performing the national anthem for two Cincinnati Reds games. They’ve released three recording projects: A No Promises Christmas (2016), All Wet (2018) and The Nines (2019), as well as the pandemic-era virtual concert, NO PROMISES Saves Christmas.

New Friends & New Music for 2024:  Now in its tenth season (including a pandemic-era digital concert in 2020), “Christmas with No Promises” has become a holiday tradition for vocal music lovers across Cincinnati, drawing thousands of listeners to the annual series of concerts at the Tri-State’s popular venues and sacred spaces.
