Hu was one of 12 IHMS students who participated in the Southwest MATHCOUNTS Chapter Competition on Feburary 17. The top four students from each chapter advance to state.

This year, our IHMS MATHCOUNTS Club was finally able to meet in person and problem solve through our challenges face-to-face,” said Indian Hill Middle School teacher Jessica Brown, who mentors students as the MATHCOUNTS advisor. “It has truly been a remarkable time witnessing these exceptional and brilliant minds at work! I am so proud of each and every member of MATHCOUNTS for their determination and perseverance throughout the year!”

The Indian Hill Middle School students who competed at the chapter level included: JC Chen, Mina Hagopian, Andrew Hu, Guerau Carol Jutgla, Milena Kawala, Eric Liu, Vaishnavi Mummidi, Saanvi Shrivastav, Ardisha Thawrani, Iris Xu, Grace Zhang, and Victor Zhang.

“What an accomplishment for each of our students who competed in the chapter level,” said Indian Hill Middle School Principal Jennifer Ulland. “We are so proud of these students, and we will all be cheering Andrew on as he advances to state!”

The MATHCOUNTS State Competition takes place March 31.
