The first of these in Clermont County is the dedication of a painting by nationally known local artist Kate Albert entitled, “Historical Miami Township.” The dedication will take place Friday, November 8 at 1 pm at the Miami Township Civic Center, 6101 Meijer Drive in Miami Township. Next spring, this painting will be turned into a large outdoor mural as part of a county-wide effort to celebrate the area’s history.
Clermont County is an official America250-Ohio County.
The Clermont Convention & Visitors Bureau has been leading a county-wide committee to spearhead efforts that will honor our area spanning the next two years. The Miami Township mural is the first effort, with six additional communities joining Miami Township in adding murals to their areas over the next two years.
“Public art is something that many residents of Clermont County have been interested in for years. With 2026 approaching, our America 250-Clermont County committee thought this was perfect timing to combine art and history, sharing our rich history through what will be beautiful murals in celebration of our country’s Semiquincentennial,” said Jeff Blom, President of the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Co-Chair of the America 250-Clermont County committee along with Judi Adams, Co-Chair from Bethel Historical Society and Museum.
The Miami Township painting was designed in Ms. Albert’s distinctive style, depicting the history of the area in a whimsical, engaging manner. The mural will be part of the Fitness Court coming to Community Park on Buckwheat Road next April. The original art will be scanned, enlarged, and “wrapped” on the Court wall facing Buckwheat Rd. Key elements include the Leming House – still located and accessible in Community Park – Epworth Heights, the Happy Hollow Ebeneezer Church, the Perintown Mill, and even Lincoln coming through on a train!

“The opportunity to partner with local artist and Miami Township resident Kate Albert, the MMT Chamber, and the Visitors’ Bureau to showcase the rich history of Miami Township has been a great experience,” said Kelly. “We are excited to share the mural with our community and the region as we all celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of our country.”
The original artwork will hang in the Miami Township Civic Center and be available for visitors to view.
