Not Wild, Wild West. But close.
Louis L’Amour, the king of Western novels has a birthday today!
He was born as Louis LaMoore in North Dakota in 1908.
L’Amour wrote 105 pieces of work, comprised mostly of Western novels, but also several Science Fiction novels, and Non-Fiction books.
Did you read any of his books?
Most of his Westerns take place in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, or Colorado. So, here is a time-period appropriate map of the Utah and New Mexico Territories, which are today’s Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and Arizona, from 1855 by Colton.
