Independence day celebration includes parade, concerts, food and fireworks

LOVELAND, OH – USA (July 1, 2023) – The 4th of July weekend has arrived and the City of Loveland has a celebration planned for Tuesday, July 4th, to officially celebrate America’s Independence Day.

When the city announced the plans for their Independence Day celebration several weeks ago, it included details of the events planned for family fun throughout the day culminating with a grand fireworks display. Mayor Kathy Bailey invited everyone to come to Loveland and enjoy the celebration.

With the arrival of the 4th of July weekend, the city offered the following detailed schedule of events and activities for the day of celebration in Loveland: 

Yankee Doodle Dog Show: 4 p.m., Nisbet Park    (Free)

Dress Fido in his best red, white, and blue! Meet at 3:45 p.m. at the Clock Tower in Downtown Loveland (near the Bike Trail crossing). Dogs will parade toward Nisbet Park at 4 p.m. Best-dressed winners will receive a prize basket.

Kid Zone: 4-6:30 p.m., Nisbet Park     (Free)

The kid zone will include photo opportunities, a reptile petting zoo, games, live entertainment, and more. An FC Cincinnati player will be in attendance for free photos and autographs.

Lawn Games: 4-6:30 p.m., Fountain Greene     (Free)

Gather with friends and family to play a lawn game! Games will be located in the Fountain Greene area (space in front of Fleet Feet).

Food Trucks: 4-10 p.m., Nisbet Park and Downtown Loveland

Multiple food trucks will be located throughout the event. Visitors can also enjoy the city’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA).

Parade: 7 p.m.     (Free)
The parade will leave from Loveland Elementary School (600 Loveland Madeira Road), turn on West Loveland Avenue, and travel through the Historic Downtown District, ending at the intersection of State Route 48/Second Street and East Loveland Avenue. Parade watchers arrive early along these streets to save their viewing spots!

Concert: 8-10 p.m., Nisbet Park      (Free)
The band Pandora Effect will perform at the Nisbet Park Amphitheater. This Cincinnati-based, high-energy cover band performs songs from the 1970s to current hits.

Pie Eating Contest: 8:30 p.m., Nisbet Park      (Free)
Serving up a slice of Americana! Get ready for some old-fashioned fun.

Fireworks: 10 p.m.     (Free)
Fireworks will be launched from Kiwanis Park to create a spectacular show. The show will be best viewed from the downtown area. Please note the Matt Haverkamp Foundation Dog Park (located at Kiwanis Park) will close at noon on July 4.

Transportation: 4-11 p.m.     (Free)
Parking shuttles will be transporting eventgoers continuously from 4-11 p.m. Park-and-ride locations will be at Loveland High School (1 Tiger Trail) and the Loveland Early Childhood Center (6740 Loveland-Miamiville Road). Drop-off locations will be at Riverside Drive (near Loveland Veterans’ Memorial) and Third Street (near Whistle Stop Clay Works). Please note eventgoers will need to walk to the festivities from the drop-off locations.
