LOVELAND, OH (May 1, 2020 2:11 p.m.) – The Board of Education for Loveland City Schools will hold a special meeting on May 6th at 5 p.m. virtually per HB197 and the current Stay at Home Order for the purpose of interviewing and considering interested candidates for Board of Education vacancies. The Board will enter into executive session to consider the appointment of public officials. No action will be taken. LOVELAND, OH (May 1, 2020) – The Loveland Board of Education has received the resignations of Art Jarvis and Ned Portune. Both are effective immediately.

Due to these vacancies, in accordance with board policy and applicable state law, the board is now seeking qualified and interested candidates from the Loveland City School District community. Applicants should submit a notice of interest in writing to Treasurer Kevin Hawley (hawleyke@lovelandschools.org) by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 4. Applicants should include biographical information, address, affirmation of voter registration, and a short statement describing qualifications and reasons for filling the role of Board Member of the Loveland City School District. Both of these positions would be for service through December 2021.
Under Ohio law, the board must make appointments to fill the vacancies at its next board meeting, not earlier than 10 days after the vacancies occurred. The next meeting satisfying the timeframe is scheduled for May 12, 2020. The board has scheduled a meeting for May 6 for the purpose of interviewing candidates. If additional meetings are required prior to May 12, they will be communicated accordingly.
