Carter has served as the principal of Loveland Intermediate School since 2021 after serving as assistant principal for 4 years prior to that. She served as Special Education Supervisor in West Clermont Schools for 9 years before coming to LCSD.
“I am honored to step into this new role and begin collaborating with our dedicated staff and families across the entire district,” said Carter. “I am deeply committed to ensuring we meet the individualized needs of every student through collaboration and strategic support.”
With Carter moving to a central office role, current Loveland Intermediate School Assistant Principal John Hart will take over as the principal. He has been assistant principal of LIS since 2021. Hart previously taught math at LHS, Middletown High School, and Springfield High School.

With Hart assuming the position of principal at LIS, Kristen Overbeck will move into the role of assistant principal at the Loveland Intermediate School. She’s been Assistant Principal of Little Miami Primary School since 2025, and has over a decade of experience as a special education teacher in the Sycamore Community School District.
“I’m beyond excited to become a Tiger and step into this new chapter with such an incredible community,” said Overbeck. “My passion for 5th and 6th grade runs deep, and I can’t wait to build meaningful relationships and grow together every day.”
District Superintendent expressed his feelings about utilizing talented staff as well as welcoming a new member to the Tiger family.
“We are fortunate to have a roster of talent in the district when we need to fill positions, and to be able to attract great candidates, too. I’m excited to see Julie and John in their new roles, and to welcome Kristen into the Loveland family.” – Mike Broadwater, LCSD Superintendent.
