LOVELAND, OH (September 6, 2021) – The month of September is dedicated to raising awareness for Childhood Cancer, but it is the everyday business for The Dragonfly Foundation which began right in Loveland during 2010.

The Dragonfly Foundation started September off on the right foot when Glier’s Goetta donated $14,783 at a check presentation ceremony at their headquarters in Covington, KY on Thursday, September 2. The donation came from money raised during Glier’s its annual Goettafest held each summer at Newport’s Festival Park, below Newport on the Levee. The event took place in Covington and Newport over two weekends this year; July 29th- August 1st and August 5th- 8th. Dragonfly volunteers helped out during Goettafest at Newport this year. The generous donation from Glier’s proceeds totaled $14,783.

The Dragonfly Foundation helps pediatric cancer patients and their families find strength, courage and joy. They do this by providing ongoing support, relevant materials, and caring, nurturing, and transformative experiences. The Dragonfly Foundation has helped more than 6,100 pediatric cancer patients, families, and their caregivers since launching in 2010.

DELHI POLICE DEPARTMENT GOING GOLD

Delhi Police will wear a special gold badge for the month of September to help raise awareness of children on their cancer journey, in remission and in remembrance of those who lost their battle with cancer.  Police and Delhi Township employees will also wear a specially designed t-shirt during September. The shirt, which includes the Dragonfly logo and says: “Bust Pediatric Cancer,” was created in partnership with Dragonfly.

The formal announcement of the “Going Gold” campaign took place Wednesday, September 1, at the Delhi Police Department with Chief Jim Howarth and Assistant Chief Jeff Braun along with a Dragonfly family. Additionally, a representative from Servatti’s was on hand to describe their special Dragonfly cookies to be sold during September. A portion of those cookie sales will be donated to Dragonfly foundation.
