LHS Drama presents ‘The Theory of Relativity’
on stage April 21-24

LOVELAND, OH (April 15, 2021) – In March of 2020, the Loveland High School production of “Little Shop of Horrors” was heavy into rehearsals.

Freshly-painted set pieces were drying on the stage, all numbered for nailing together to build Mushnik’s flower shop; the infamous Audrey II puppets were rented and set to be delivered the next day.
And then school shut down for three weeks ….
While the cast and crew kept up their hopes to perform when school opened again, or maybe in the summer, it was not to be and Seniors graduated.
With COVID protocols and limitations on performances, it didn’t even look like a production could take place in the new school year. Not to be denied, using their creative talent under the direction of Shawn Miller, a small cast and crew of students managed to work in a radio version of A Christmas Carol in December. The audience was limited to immediate family.
It certainly wasn’t the big musical Loveland is known to produce each fall. Still, it was great to be back on stage. Things felt almost normal for once. Now, COVID protocols are still in place, but a bigger audience is allowed. Excitement abounds: the cast, crew, and musicians of “The Theory of Relativity” are beyond ready, willing and finally able to perform for everyone.

Students in a college physics class have more personal problems to solve than those in the physics textbook –
Why are numbers more reliable than people?
What happens to old friendships as experiences change those people?
How do you handle the self-realizations presented by being on your own for the first time?
The musical is funny, poignant and so contemporary as many of us have spent too much time in our heads during this last year. Come join us to laugh, see ourselves reflected on stage, and maybe even shed a tear.
Per COVID protocol, the audience size is limited so we recommend buying tickets online. If there are seats still available, we will sell tickets at the door but do not guarantee that will happen. We advise a PG rating as college students ponder a lot of adult ideas.
