LOVELAND, OH (November 22, 2023) – The Christmas Season comes alive in Loveland each year with the lighting of the community Christmas Tree. The third annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival to celebrate the spirit of the season in Loveland will take place on Saturday, December 2nd this year.

Oh indeed it is Christmas time in the City – the City of Loveland that is. You know Jolly Old St. Nick can’t be far behind when the City leaders come out for the official lighting of the community Christmas Tree. Here is the Press Release issued earlier this week by the City of Loveland announcing the 3rd annual celebration of this event:

Ring in the holiday season by attending the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 4-8 p.m. in Historic Downtown Loveland.

The festival is a new City of Loveland holiday tradition featuring fun for all ages. Admission is free. The event will take place in the center of Historic Downtown at Jackson Street Market (116 Karl Brown Way), a community space with outdoor seating along the Little Miami Scenic Trail.

Gather along the Trail to cheer on the Santa parade. Local businesses, elves, and the Loveland Frogman will guide the Big Guy himself to the tree lighting ceremony!

At 7 p.m., Mayor Kathy Bailey and local celebrity Julie O’Neill will flip the switch to light the city’s Christmas tree, a pine standing more than 60 ft. tall along the trail. Approximately 2,500 lights and 250 ornaments will adorn the tree, which will remain lit through the holiday season.

Immediately following the tree lighting ceremony, a holiday themed drone show will cap off the evening. Approximately 100 drones will be synced to music for a spectacular, one-of-a-kind experience!

    • Holiday market
    • Penguin petting zoo
    • Christmas crafts
    • Live entertainment
    • Photo opportunities
    • Holiday character meet-and-greet

The 2023 Christmas Tree Lighting Festival is presented by the City of Loveland, The Shops of Brown’s Crossing at Jackson Street Market, and Loveland-Symmes Firefighters Association.
