LOVELAND, OH (November 21, 2020) – On a cool, crisp Saturday morning November 14, (3 months before Valentine’s Day 2021) Loveland Valentine Ladies gathered to honor the 2020 Valentine Lady Debbie Murray with the ceremonial unveiling of her Valentine Ladies “Wall of Fame” portrait.

Several Loveland Valentine Ladies were on hand for the intimate, though masked and social-distanced, gathering at the Valentine Ladies Wall of Fame along the Scenic Little Miami Trail (aka Loveland Bike Trail). Also on hand were a couple City of Loveland dignitaries in the likes of Loveland City Council member Tim Butler, City Manager Dave Kennedy and Little Miami River Chamber Alliance (LMRCA) President Cee Cee Collins. The Loveland Valentine Program is presented annually by the LMRCA.

Past Valentine Lady Pat Furterer (2002) offered the initial greeting and remarks welcoming the other Valentine Ladies on hand including Kay Napier (2008), Peggy Goodwin (2006), Janis Fogle (2014) and Kathy Lorenz (2019) and the honoree of the day Debbie Murray, the 2020 Valentine Lady.

Cee Cee Collins offered a few words of congratulations and brief description of how a Valentine Lady is chosen with an emphasis on their service and impact on the community. Tim Butler spoke briefly as well offering congratulations to Debbie Murray and thanks to all the Valentine Ladies for their great service to the Loveland community. Debbie Murray was last to speak and immediately acknowledged being humbled by the honor just as she echoed her own words from nearly a year ago when she was introduced as the 2020 Loveland Valentine Lady.

“To be chosen as a Loveland Valentine Lady has been an incredible honor,” said Murray. She also acknowledged the excitement of being able to go out into the community and serve before and even after the pandemic struck. “I was most excited about the chance to make the visits, especially to the schools to be with the children and read to them. That meant the most.”

Once a Loveland Valentine Lady, always a Valentine Lady. Now, more than ever, with her face etched into the marble façade of the Valentine Ladies Wall of Fame, Debbie Murray will be forever known as a member of the select group of women who serve Loveland by simply spreading love throughout the community.

Congratulations Debbie Murray, 2020 Loveland Valentine Lady
