The Loveland 5K leads off the annual Green Beret
Cincinnati Classic Events weekend

LOVELAND, OH (September 6, 2022) –The 5th annual Steps ’n Salutes Green Beret 5K in Loveland takes place this Sunday, September 11, along with the Great American Relay crossing the country from CA to the World Trade Center in NYC.

Organized to benefit the Green Beret Foundation, the 5K is part of the Green Beret Cincinnati Classic Events weekend being held this weekend, September 11 and 12.
“We lost Major Darren Baldwin, our hero behind these events, with his passing in December, 2021 but continue our strong efforts to raise awareness of the Green Beret Foundation and funds for the Foundation,” said Char Cooper, co-chairperson for the race. “This effort was so key to Darren’s journey following his life changing injuries in Iraq many years ago.”
The Green Beret Cincinnati Classic Events was founded by and is organized by the mother of Major Darren Baldwin. Events include the 8th annual Green Beret Reception Banquet Sunday, September 11, at the Manor House in Mason, OH featuring several guest speakers during an “Evening of Remembrance”. Golf takes the spotlight on Monday, September 12, at O’Bannon Creek Golf Club for the Major Darren Baldwin Green Beret Golf Classic.

The LIVE 5K being held in Loveland will take place this Sunday, September 11. The “virtual” portion throughout the world, and the Great American Relay will take place beginning September 11, and finish on October 16.
“We are incorporating the special theme of “do it for my brothers”, words Darren shared before his passing encouraging our strong efforts to continue,” Cooper said. “This year funds raised in this event and from the Great American Relay will be designated for the Green Beret Foundation and its Major Darren Baldwin Silver Star Families Memorial Fund”
It’s not too late to register to RUN LIVE this amazing 5K race takes place along the Scenic Little Miami River Trail in Loveland, Ohio. The race starts and finishes at Nisbet Park along the bike trail with on-site registration and activities beginning at 8 a.m. The starting gun is scheduled to go off at 9:30 a.m. Don’t forget this is a family and kid friendly event with a Kids Fun Run set for 10:45 a.m, in Nisbet Park.
If you can’t make it to the live 5K in Loveland Sunday, September 11, you can make it a virtual event. Run in your backyard, through your neighborhood, your favorite trails or anywhere around the world September 11-16. You just may see people running with their Ruck Pack too. The GORUCK designated run – virtual or 5K – will allow the “ruckers” to earn their custom patch. Oh, and you know it is a win-win no matter where you finish with funds going to support the Green Beret Foundation and plenty of “Cool Green Beret” inspired swag for everyone.
