Wright was presented with the Excellence in Service Award for his work on a 2022 credit card skimmer investigation.
In the investigation, Wright was contacted by a Loveland citizen who believed her credit card had been compromised. Wright discovered covert credit card skimmers added to the gas pumps at a local station.
Wright worked with multiple state and federal agencies to locate and charge two suspects, who were responsible for sizeable financial losses to citizens and businesses across Greater Cincinnati.
“Officer Wright was recognized for his dedicated service to our community and his commitment to our agency’s mission to provide ‘Excellent Customer-Oriented Service with Integrity while Continuously Improving.” – Loveland Police Chief Michael Gabrielson.
In addition to his investigative work on the skimmer case, Wright is a field training officer, bike officer, translator (Spanish), and active in the department’s firearms program.
Earlier this year, Wright was awarded the Clarence “Cid” Caesar (Cincinnati P.D.) Award for Investigation Demonstrating Interagency Cooperation by the Hamilton County Police Association.
For 40 years, the Clermont Chamber of Commerce Foundation has partnered with law enforcement agencies to present the Clermont County Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet to show appreciation for good acts performed by police and citizens. The annual event raises funds for the University of Cincinnati Clermont College’s law enforcement scholarship.
