HERE IS TEXT OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CHAMBER RELEASED FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13,:
Annual Awards 2020 Announcement –
The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance called a special meeting of the Board of Directors this AM to discuss the 2020 Annual Awards Dinner. Like many of you, we continue to monitor Covid 19 and the effects it continues to have on human lives.
We deeply care about all of the businesses we serve, their employees, and their families. After in depth discussion, the decision was made to move the Annual Awards Dinner to December 3, 2020 at 7pm, and to hold the event virtually. We thoughtfully discussed the many options and variations for this annual event and understand the importance of Annual Awards to the businesses and the community. We simply feel waiting until Covid #’s decrease to do an in-person event would not be fair to the nominees or the winners of each category. The businesses have worked hard and deserve to be awarded! Moving the event will allow more time for a fun, quality, and safe event.
This year’s Annual Awards Dinner will have many of the same features you’ve known to come and love! Feel free to don your formal TOP, and pajama bottoms and join us for a one-of-a-kind FUN virtual event. Because we know you will be missing the Chamber Chicken Dinner food, we will be partnering with area restaurants to allow you to “choose your meal,” using the Annual Awards discount code at many area restaurants! The silent auction (that benefits Tried & True Parenting and the Chamber scholarship fund), will continue with some of the most interesting baskets ever! We will be broadcasting live with Chairman of the Board, Doug Portmann and President, CeeCee Collins congratulating the winners.
Along with the event, each guest will receive a swag bag of items that can be picked up via drive-thru on December 3 from Oasis Conference Center. Because the majority of you have registered for the in-person event, we respectfully ask you to consider donating the difference in the ticket price ($30) to the chamber. They have been ineligible for PPP funds and your donation would be very helpful at this time. If you prefer a reimbursement, please contact Meredith@lmrchamberalliance. org or at 513-683-1544.
Although this is not ideal, the chamber feels it is important to keep the community involved and hope that you understand their position. We plan to have fun and look forward to recognizing and honoring the businesses for the hard work they have put in throughout the year.
Additional details will be shared over the next few weeks as the chamber continues to add exciting elements to the evening.
Again, congratulations to the 2020 nominees and thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. Feel free to reach out to any of the 2020 Board of Directors members with any questions.
Best regards,
2020 Little Miami River Chamber Alliance Board of Directors
