February 10-12 in Loveland

LOVELAND, OHIO (January 17, 2023) — In case you missed it, “Hearts Afire Weekend” is returning to the “Sweetheart of Ohio” City of Loveland for a city-wide weekend celebration of Valentine’s Day February 10-12.
The unique weekend-long celebration of love and romance made its debut in the land of love in 2022. Much to the delight of those attending the inaugural festival of love, they were treated to a variety of fun activities including ice sculptures, fire twirlers and a game village sculpted in ice. Many Loveland businesses embraced the celebration hosting special events during the weekend. Cappy’s Wine and Spirits, owned by Ben Capodagli, hosted a charity date auction and vow renewal ceremony with Elvis during the event in 2022.
“The city has a large Independence Day Celebration each year. This is our July 4th of the winter.” – Ben Capodagli, Owner, Cappy’s Wine & Spirits
This year, the Hearts Afire events are planned for the weekend before Valentine’s Day. Among the activities featured again this year is the live ice carving, outdoor decorations and fire elements. The crowd-pleasing ice sculpture walking tour will be back with 25 unique ice sculptures expected to be featured. Most activities will happen Saturday, Feb. 11.
Again local businesses in the city’s Historic Downtown and Loveland-Madeira Road Corridor will turn up the heat setting the mood for love and romance with shopping and dining specials along with fun activities and open houses.
Some of the weekend fun planned includes:
- “Galentine” night
- Charity date auction
- Valentine-themed variety show
- Chasing Cupid 5K
- Arthur Murray dance lessons
- Hearts Afire Valentine Pageant
In the spirit of love, the event will give back to the community. The city is partnering with the Loveland Stage Company (LSC) to host the Hearts Afire Valentine Pageant for children ages 1-4 at the Loveland Stage Company Theater Saturday, February 11. (CLICK HERE for Pageant story on Loveland Beacon.) It is all for fun with judging done by the Loveland Valentine’s Ladies (known for their service to the community). NOTE: All proceeds go to LSC’s ongoing fundraising effort to raise the necessary $100K for a new HVAC system.
The LSC Theater is also hosting a special valentine-themed variety show – “Crushin It” on Friday, February 10 & 11. Price of admission is a suggested $10 donation at the door with proceeds going toward the LSC HVAC fundraiser.
