It was a Little League baseball championship season for the Loveland 13 U Little League team winning the Ohio State Little League Championship in July, and finishing 4th in the Little League Regional Championship play in Iowa during that same month. The boys of summer captured the hearts of the Loveland community during their exciting run to the Little League Regionals. Their State Championship and 4th place finish in the Regionals is a best ever for a Loveland Little League baseball team. Their accomplishments on the diamond earned them special recognition at a ceremony in Loveland’s City Hall Tuesday evening, September 12th.
The team’s head coach Scott Carr summed it up in a text message to Loveland Beacon following the ceremony honoring the team with Mayor Kathy Bailey and members of Loveland’s City Council as well as community members on hand for the special recognition.
“It was really nice,” Carr wrote in his text message. “The mayor was awesome. The entire City Council gave the boys a standing ovation. Even the guests (public on hand) at the meeting smiled and enjoyed the moment. Very cool.”
Very cool indeed! Not sure it is the final chapter, but it was one more chapter in a storybook run for a fine group of 12 & 13 year old young men who made their mark as the boys of summer 2023 playing championship Little League Baseball on the diamonds in Loveland, Ohio. Congratulations on a season well played.
