Here is the text of the Press Release issued in July announcing the development and construction of the Aldi grocery store across from Kohl’s and next door to Christ Hospital medical office on S.R. 28:
Where: Miami Township, Clermont County
When: July 25, 2023
What: New Aldi Store Being Developed on State Route 28 in Miami Township
A new commercial development that will be anchored by an Aldi grocery store is under construction in Clermont County’s Miami Township. Located at 1155 State Route 28, the new grocery will add to the nearly 20 locations Aldi operates in the Greater Cincinnati region when it opens in 2024. The five-acre site will house the 25,000 square feet grocery store as well an outlot in front of the store that is available for a future restaurant.
Miami Township partnered with the team of developers Baker Storey McDonald Properties from Nashville, Tennessee and locally-based OnSite Retail Group to incorporate adjacent transportation improvements as part of this project. The site is an attractive one to shoppers as it is located across the street from the existing Kohl’s department store and next door to the Christ Hospital medical office. The Aldi’s site will be accessed by a new public street via the traffic signal and the public road will allow the adjacent medical office traffic and an existing residential neighborhood to gain access to the traffic signal on State Route 28. Existing drives on State Route 28 will be modified to reduce left turns into and out of the existing office and residential neighborhood.
Miami Township Administrator Jeff Wright stated that “the Township is not only excited about a multi-million-dollar retail development occurring in our community to offer residents additional choices, but we look forward to bringing a safer situation to our adjacent residents and the motoring public.”
OnSite Retail Group Principal Andrew Feinblatt said, “I can’t thank Miami Township enough for all their hard work, patience, and creativity. It’s taken several years to get to this point. I am extremely proud of what’s been accomplished, and sincerely appreciate the assistance and teamwork from all who contributed.
