UC awarded the 2020 Interprofessional Group Recognition Award from the National Academies of Practice (NAP)

CINCINNATI, OH (May 7, 2020) – The University of Cincinnati’s Academic Health Center — composed of the colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy — has received the 2020 Interprofessional Group Recognition Award from the National Academies of Practice (NAP).

NAP is a nonprofit organization founded in 1981 to advise governmental bodies on the country’s health care system. Distinguished practitioners and scholars are elected annually by their peers from 14 health professions to join NAP, the only interprofessional group of health care practitioners and scholars dedicated to supporting affordable, accessible, coordinated quality health care for all.

The Interprofessional Group Recognition Award is given to groups which have made enduring contributions to interprofessional practice and education.

U.C. Medical Students (Provided) 

According to NAP officials, UC was picked as one of the five universities nationally participating in the Urban Universities for Health, a national academic learning collaborative funded by National Institutes of Health and the Association of American Medical Colleges, focused on investigative approaches to workforce development that lead to improved health outcomes and reduced disparities in local communities.
