Let your voice be heard by school leaders

By Chuck Gibson

LOVELAND, OH (October 2, 2023) –  The first Town Hall Meeting of the year for Loveland City School District (LCSD) is scheduled to take place this Wednesday, October 4th.

The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of Loveland Middle School

The Town Hall meeting invites the Loveland community to speak and be heard. It gives the school district leadership the opportunity to listen to the community. In sharing their thoughts and questions, the community provides a view of how the LCSD leaders, staff, and faculty may better serve the needs of the students. Earlier the district provided a link to a survey and RSVP for the Town Hall at www.lovelandschools.org/engage. During the Town Hall small group discussions will be held covering a variety of topics to help bring to light what the community is thinking about ways to help best serve the students in the school district.

Loveland Tiger Families,

If you haven’t seen it already, you should have a postcard in your mailbox soon from Loveland City Schools. Postcards are the best way to make sure our entire Loveland City School District community gets important information.

First, it’s a celebration of our Five Star Ohio School Report Card. I think our community should know that Loveland City School District students are working hard to achieve great things – and the state is recognizing that success.

Second, the postcard invites everyone to come to our fall Town Hall Meetings and complete our community feedback survey. You can join us on October 4 at 6 p.m. at Loveland Middle School or November 8 at 6 p.m. at Loveland High School.

The Town Hall Meetings will be a chance for us to gather feedback from our community on a variety of topics. I’ve really enjoyed getting people together for meaningful conversations during events like this. Learn more, or complete our survey at www.lovelandschools.org/engage.

We’re also reminding everyone about Showcase Night – our district-wide open house that happens at LHS on October 25 at 6:30 p.m. Check out some of the awesome things happening in our classrooms, and find new ways to get involved during this great event.

Lastly, the postcard points people to information about how the property revaluations that are currently underway in our area will impact our district finances. We’ve posted a series of questions and answers to provide more information on our website, and we want people to know where they can find it. The big takeaway is that as property values increase in our area, the district will see a financial benefit – but it’s a fairly small increase in our overall revenue. School finance can sometimes be confusing, and I think we’ve done a pretty good job of trying to explain it to our community at www.lovelandschools.org/taxes. There is also good information in the video I’ve included above.

If you have any questions, please send me an email: broadwmi@lovelandschools.org.

I hope your family is having a great start to the school year so far. It’s hard to believe we’re already in October!

Go Tigers!

Mike Broadwater, Superintendent, Loveland City Schools
