TO ALL VETERANS:
WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
Today is Veterans Day: honoring military veterans. It is also called Armistice Day, the original name in the US, and Remembrance Day in other countries.
This day was originally designed to honor those men and women who served in World War I.
Are you a veteran or is someone in your family a veteran?
Today’s featured map shows some of the key military events near the end of World War II. It also shows images of several turning points of the War including the attack on Pearl Harbor, US Flag raised at Iwo Jima, A-Bomb mushroom over Hiroshima, as well as prominently displaying V-E and V-J Days.
