Ohio Department of Natural Resources will close bridge near Nisbet park for three days

LOVELAND, OH (July 20,2020) – In a Press Release issued by Loveland City Manager David Kennedy late Monday afternoon, July 20, 2020, it was announced the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) plans to close the “Loveland Bike Trail” bridge near Nisbet Park at dusk on Monday, July 27.

The temporary closure is expected to last three days while work is done on a design and feasibility study for repairs deemed necessary by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Work to determine the feasibility & design will include borings and geotechnical analysis by the consulting firm contracted by ODNR. The last ODOT inspection of the bridge revealed the condition had deteriorated to a point of necessary repairs.
The bridge situated on The Scenic Little Miami River Trail just north of Nisbet Park is set to close at dusk on Monday, July 27, with work to begin early morning Tuesday, July 28. The Press Release from Kennedy says Detour Signs Will Be Posted.
