The William Wrigley Jr. Company was founded on this day in 1891. No joke.
Their headquarters is a Chicago landmark – ups, until when it was sold in 2012.
Their chewing gum brands include Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit, Doublemint, Spearmint, Juicy Fruit, Big Red, Extra among others in the US.
Mars purchased Wrigley’s in 2008. That is a good thing in my view as Wrigley’s had some ‘interesting’ business practices trying to protect their stronghold on the chewing gum market…
