COLUMUBUS, OH (February 11, 2025) – The state operating and transportation budget process got underway last week in the Ohio House of Representatives.

As a member of the House Finance Committee and chairperson for the House Health Committee, State Representative Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland), plays an integral role in the process which will set the budgets for fiscal years 2026-27. Schmidt is currently in the process of reviewing the Governor’s request for the budget as well as funding levels for various agencies’ programs.

Schmidt will chair the House Health Committee hearings on the budget proposals from health-related agencies and boards as they begin.
“I am glad to be a part of a broad and robust budget process that will examine important aspects of the budget that affect the health and wellbeing of all Ohioans,” Schmidt said. “I believe the committee will have insightful questions and we look forward to hearing from agency leaders.”
