Additional CHCA Seniors Sign with Athletic Scholarships

SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (May 5, 2022) – Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy seniors participated in a Signing Day, signing letters of intent to commit to playing at the next level near year. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. at CHCA’s Martha S. Lindner Upper School.
Colin Ames of South Lebanon signed to play baseball with Gulf Coastal State College located in Panama City, Florida. Ames was a 2019 Honorable Mention All-MVC, 2021 1st Team All-MVC, PBR All Ohio, and a 2021 State Champion.
“Colin is a guy who has worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity to play at the next level,” said CHCA Head Baseball Coach Tony Schulz. “Gulf Coastal State is getting an absolute steal here and I know he’s going to do amazing things for the Commadores.”
Claire Mitchell of Montgomery signed for cheerleading with Butler University located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“Claire is a wonderful, beautiful person inside and out,” said Head Cheerleading Coach Missy. “She is a true leader and being helpful is one of her finest qualities. Claire is always willing to help with whatever is needed and when she sees a teammate struggling to keep up, she always offers to help them. She will be a great asset to the Butler squad, and I expect great things from her!”

Carmen Soloria of West Chester signed to play volleyball with Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. Soloria, team captain, was part of several historical events at CHCA over her four years at the school. She was a part of a 3X State Final Four run for the volleyball program, as well as smashed a shot-put record (33.9 in) in Track and Field. During the 2021 season, Soloria was 1st Team All MVC, District Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-Ohio, and participated in the Ohio All-Star match. She was a 3-year All-Academic team member as well as part of National Honor Society and obtained a Presidential Award for volunteering.
“Beyond the accolades, Carmen is a representation of what a 360 athlete means and will make an impact for Christ at Anderson,” said CHCA Head Volleyball Coach Lisa Schaad. “She has always strived to be a better version of herself every day, whether that is in sports or walking the halls of CHCA. Carmen is a role model for the youth as well as her peers. Her parents, siblings, friends, and I all support Carmen’s passion and are very happy to have been part of her journey in making the decision to pursue academics and athletics at Anderson.”
Jack Vogele of Loveland signed to play baseball with University of Cincinnati located in Cincinnati, OH. An outstanding centerfielder, Vogele was a 2021 1st Team All MVC, 1st Team All-City, 1st Team All-Academic, PBR All Ohio, and a 2021 State Champion.
“Jack’s a special kid – everyone loves him,” said Coach Schulz. “He is always positive and always smiling. More importantly, his teammates love him.”
These four students join Caden Crawford, Will Murphy, Cooper Robinson, Griffin Max, Finley Payne, Jessey Li, Mary Jones, and Ava Kraft, who will be pursuing athletics at the collegiate level. We’re excited to see them flourish at the next level!
