A Christmas Holiday Season Winter update from the Food Pantry

LIFE FOOD PANTRY: Linda Bergholz, Executive Director

LOVELAND, OH (December 20, 2022) – As most of us wait with chldlike anticipation for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, Loveland InterFaith Effort (LIFE Food Pantry) executive director Linda Bergholz provides a reflective update about those served by the food pantry.

Here is the full text of the update from LIFE:

As I sit down to write this update, the wind outside is howling and blowing things in all directions. The temperature is dropping and like most of our supporters, I am grateful for the warmth and safety of my home.

Sadly, for many of our clients, life is quite different; food is scarce, bills are mounting, and eviction is a real possibility. The LIFE Food Pantry is a place they turn to for help and hope.

Record numbers of folks are coming to our doors for help with food, financial assistance, school supplies, car repairs, weekend food bags for kids, Thanksgiving and Holiday Meal Bags, and holiday gifts for their families. Our volunteers are working hard to serve their needs and the pantry through satellite event locations which are abuzz with activity.

Whenever we have put out the call for help, you have always supported us, and we are very thankful. We asked for pet supplies, and they arrived by the carload (and yes, we can always use more pet food!). We asked for weekend bag supplies to feed kids when they are not at school and the floodgates opened. We need your help again – would you please go to our website, https://lifefoodpantry.org/donate-funds/  and make a monthly donation? It does not have to be much; even $5 makes a significant difference in what we can do for our clients.

If we could get one hundred people this holiday season to donate $5 a month, we would have $500 a month to help with emergency financial assistance, perishable items such as milk and eggs, and basic items like toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish liquid – all necessities but not permitted to be purchased using SNAP/food stamps. Can you please provide this year-end gift, and be one of the one hundred supporters we need? Our system is set up to take PayPal, but if you’d rather write a check, you can drop it off or mail it to the Pantry at 541 Loveland Madeira Rd. Loveland, OH. 45140.

As you go about your busy days leading up to the holidays, please consider LIFE Food Pantry when you are doing your shopping or wondering what to give that “difficult to shop for” person. A financial or food donation to LIFE in their name is a gift that they will LOVE!

Blessings to you and yours during this holiday season,

Sincerely,

Linda Bergholz, Executive Director LIFE Food Pantry

Some LIFE FOOD PANTRY STATS:

Because of generous donations from the community, from January through November, we were able to serve 2,796 families with 7,409 individuals in the 45140 area. The amount of product given to these families equals 155,589 meals. We also provided over $41,000 in emergency financial assistance for the same timeframe, helping 91 families to pay for items such as rent, utilities, car repairs, medical expenses, so they can stay healthy and safe in their homes, and retain their jobs.

YOUR GENEROSITY MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

Thank you for helping our neighbors in need!
