It’s back: the Hoxworth SOCKTOBER Blood Donor promotion has returned to all Hoxworth neighborhood donation centers. Donate blood between Sunday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 31 at any one of seven Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Centers to receive a pair of limited-edition “Hoxworth Hero” socks.
“Last year’s Socktober event was a huge success with our donors, so we’re excited to bring back this promotion with a new design,” said Alecia Lipton, Direction of Public Relations at Hoxworth Blood Center. “When you donate blood with Hoxworth, you’re saving lives right here in our community. That’s why we consider all of our donors to be true heroes—and we thought a pair of Hoxworth-branded superhero socks seemed like the perfect way to show our appreciation.”
Lipton mentioned that October marks the beginning of a difficult period for blood banks across the country, as flu season, weather, and upcoming holidays negatively impact donor turnout.
Hoxworth continues to follow social distancing guidelines at donor centers and blood drives. Masks are required per local guidelines.
To schedule a donation, call (513) 451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org. Appointments are requested at this time in order to maintain social distancing protocol.
