LOVELAND, OH (May 27, 2021) – When the final bell rings and the hallways clear in Loveland Schools today, it will mark the beginning of summer break for the kids.

Ready to load up for the last bus run of the 2020/2021 School Year in Loveland

The 2020/2021 school year comes to a close on a high note after starting the school year with so many variables. The kids were in class learning in person with teachers on this final day of classes befrore a very welcome summer break goes into full swing. Fall saw a great deal of uncertainty with remote learning and hybrid model in classroom mixed with remote at home learning options. Social distancing was the order of the day with masks on too. Nobody knew when and even if the COVID-19 protocols would be lifted; if the coronavirus would linger or pass. On this final day of the school year 202/2021 in Loveland, there remains much for which to be thankful. Sports seasons happened, music happened, robotics happened, theater and show choirs happened. Sure it was different, but the students and staff felt and found some normalcy. The LHS senior Class of 2021 held near normal graduation ceremony at CINTAS Center even if with limited attendance and social distance protocols in place. For now distance is the key word: let’s all hope we can place the uncertainty that marked the start of the school year far off in the distance of our rearview mirrors. Let’s all reflect on the accomplishments of the school year past, and look with great hope to a bright future for Loveland Schools and students in the coming school year.

Here is a reminder from the Loveland City School District :

Summer Extended Learning for Students Currently in Grades K-8

Loveland City School District is offering a Summer Extended Learning Program for students in grades K-8. This program will be held on July 21-22, July 26-29, and August 2-5. The grades K-4 Summer Extended Learning Program will be held at the Loveland Early Childhood Center (LECC), and the grades 5-8 Summer Extended Learning Program will be held at Loveland Intermediate School (LIS). Families will have the option to select either morning (a.m.) sessions or afternoon (p.m.) sessions for their students.

Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided for each student regardless of the chosen learning session. Students assigned to the afternoon sessions will be given a breakfast item at the end of the day for the following morning.

We are excited to offer this program at no cost to families as the District is utilizing funds designated to address learning loss as a result of the COVID 19 shutdown.
