“Recycling Loveland” story

LOVELAND, OH (April 14, 2025) – He’s personally picked up more than 323,000 items for recycling in Loveland. That’s more than the population of Cincinnati. Marc Kutylowski is on a mission to help Recycle Loveland.

He shares his story here on Loveland Beacon Talks – A podcast:

Kutylowski started innocently enough on a leisurely day in Historic Downtown Loveland when he noticed a number of recyclable items in and around regular trash bins. He started picking them up and placing them in a recycling bin – when he could find one. Finding one was not easy on that day a little more than three years ago. The next thing you know, Marc was meeting with Loveland City Manager David Kennedy telling him about the need for more recycling bins to match up with regular trash bins. 

Since then they’ve walked around the city together multiple times locating areas to place recycling bins adding about a dozen new recycling bins. Kennedy says the walks and talks revealed Kutylowski’s passion for recycling while also teaching him the rule is: for every trash bin, a recycle bin should be right along side it.

“They’re expensive, but we are working toward that goal,” said Kennedy. “Marc has been great to work with on this.”

In fact Kutylowski contacted Rumpke himself and has arranged for a “dumpster-sized” recycling bin to be delivered at no charge. The current plan is for it to be located behind the Fleet Feet store. There’s more to come. Thanks to Marc Kutylowski recycling is getting easier- one recyclable at a time – in Loveland.
