LOVELAND, OH (May 21, 2021)  – LIFE Food Pantry Executive Director Linda Bergholz and President Terri Carter were all smiles Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2021 when they received $2,000.00 from Paxton’s & Ramsey’s and Loveland Legacy Foundation during a ceremonial check presentation in Downtown Loveland.

Two weeks ago the Paxton’s/Ramsey’s ownership and management team including Kevin Egan, Ralph Dunnigan and John Zielke invited the community to help raise funds for LIFE Food Pantry with a Monday-Tuesday evening “Dine to Donate” event. The two restaurants would donate 10%, or a minimum of $1,000.00 from proceeds from all restaurant sales for the two evenings. As an added bonus, Loveland Legacy Foundation leadership including Steve Max and Brian Garry offered to match that amount. On a summer-like afternoon Thursday, the group celebrated the successful dining fundraiser with representatives from all organizations on hand for a ceremonial check presentation.

“Today was the presentation of the checks from both Paxton’s Grill and Ramsey’s Trailside as well as Loveland Legacy Foundation,” said Kevin Egan, partner Paxton’s/Ramsey’s. “We didn’t have $10,000, in sales, but we were close enough and knew we wanted to maximize the generous match from Loveland Legacy Foundation. We rounded up and Loveland Legacy Foundation came through with the extra thousand dollars.”

Egan touted the work LIFE Food Pantry does meeting an often unseen need in the community. It’s not only LIFE Food Pantry, but the restaurant group itself making a difference in the 21-plus years for Paxton’s and now Ramsey’s in its second year contributing to help others in the community.

“They see the need and they fulfill it,” Egan said. “It’s organizations like that that make Loveland such a fantastic spot. We’ve been fortunate. The restaurants do well, you recognize there are more important things than just making a profit. It’s being able to give back and do some of these things that benefit others that make Paxton’s and Ramsey’s what we are in our community.”

There are mouths to feed, and bills to pay especially through this pandemic time. LIFE Food Pantry continues the mission to help meet the needs of those in need throughout our community. Executive Director Linda Bergholz is grateful for the support of the community at large and businesses like Paxton’s/Ramsey’s and Loveland Legacy Foundation. She recognizes their struggles during the pandemic crisis of these past 15 months.

“This is really huge for the pantry because restaurants right now are also struggling; they are struggling to hire people, they’re struggling to make up losses when they couldn’t operate,” said Bergholz. “They made a choice to support somebody in need within the community. They know many of the clients coming through our pantry aren’t able to go back to work.”

Receiving the $2,000.00 donation will go a long way supporting the mission of the LIFE Food Pantry and community members in need. Not only the help from Paxton’s and Ramsey’s but the matching assistance from Loveland Legacy Foundation.

“This kind of funding will help tremendously,” Bergholz said. “It will help keep people in their homes, keep their utilities on during this coming hot season. The Loveland Legacy Foundation has helped before too. This is a community thing and we need to support our community. There are people out there and non-profits are generally the one’s taking care of them.”
