NOTE: This is not ALL of the Ohio Primary Election results, but some local Clermont County, Warren County and State results most will find important for the upcoming November “Mid-term” election.
First off, at the state level, there was no surprise in the primary voting for the Ohio Governor’s race with Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy easily winning the nomination for the GOP while unopposed candidate Amy Acton gained the nomination for the Democratic party in the race for the Governor’s seat.
In the race for Ohio Attorney General, Keith Faber ran unopposed gaining the Republican nomination and will run against John J. Kulewicz who easily defeated Elliot Forhan for the Democratic nomination. Republican nominee Frank LaRose will square off against Democratic nominee Annette Blackwell for Auditor of State in November after both ran unopposed in the May primary. The Treasurer of State found a somewhat closely contested race for the Republican nomination ultimately going to Jay Edwards by six-plus percentage points over Kristina D. Roegner. Seth Walsh was unopposed and will represent the Democrats on the November ballot for Treasurer of State.
In the all-important race for U.S. Senator to complete the unexpired term ending 01/03/2029 (Seat vacated by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and currently filled by Republican appointee Jon Husted) Jon Husted ran unopposed in the primary and is the GOP nominee. There was no surprise in the Democratic primary race for the nomination to run against Husted as former Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown defeated Ron Kincaid in a landslide with nearly 90% of the Democratic primary votes. This is a key seat in the fight for control of the U.S. Senate in the November mid-term elections.
In another key race for control of the U.S. Congress in November mid-terms, Democratic incumbent Greg Landsman defeated his lone Democratic opposition, Damon Lynch IV by a wide margin and will run as the Democratic nominee for Representative to Congress – Ohio District 01. Republican Eric Conroy won an easy victory at the polls to gain the GOP nomination and will run in an effort to gain back a Republican congressional seat in the November mid-terms; a sure to be closely watched hard-fought battle.
