LOVELAND, OH (September 4, 2024) – Nick Jackson is am LHS grad and he’s coming back to Loveland Middle School (LMS) next Tuesday evening, September 10th from 6:30-7:15 p.m. for a “family session” carrying a powerful message to bring kids and adults together.

Nick Jackson has worked as a teacher, football coach and minister and now as a motivational speaker delivering a message about character and culture from his “I Am Speak Love” organization. He visited with students at both Loveland Intermediate School (LIS) and LMS during presentations last week. By all accounts, his message of TEAM (Trust, Empathy, Accountability and Motive) fell right in line with the Loveland School’s Core Values of Care, Respect and Responsibility. More importantly, he connected with the students.

Lara Ferrer, a member of the sponsoring Loveland MINT-PTSA organization bringing Nick Jackson and “I Am Speak Love” to the schools, witnessed his presentations to the students.

“It was awesome,” exclaimed Ferrer. “He was authentic and listened to the students. He gained their trust and showed them respect.”

Ferrer was especially excited to see how Jackson was able to get the kids talking- teaching them to “Tiger Up!”.  She cited one student sharing a situation creating challenges at home for his family right now. His presentations were well-received by the kids demonstrating the power of communication, not only among themselves, but with trusted adults. He gave great examples of how to be better prepared for school, to be a great friend and to build relationships using Trust, Empathy, Accountability and understanding Motives (TEAM) following the core values of Care, Respect and Responsibility.

“The best way to help our children at Loveland Schools with their stress and anxiety is to come together to learn not only to help not only our own children, but to be there and encourage other children. The best way to do that is to learn from Nick, Nick Jackson.” – Lara Ferrer, member M/INT PTSA and parent

Ferrer believes there “has to be a path for all of us to come together to be there for the children” and having Nick Jackson help navigate that path at the planned family session next week is why the Loveland M/INT PTSA is sponsoring his presentation at the LMS auditorium. The Middle School and Intermediate School PTSA is a group of parents who do a lot of things for the school and the kids throughout the school year according to David Knaap, LMS Principal.

“They provide not only funding, but care and support for our people. We’re very grateful for all they do. In the past, for speakers they have brought in folks who have supported some of their goals helping parents navigate middle school. They’ve also highlighted the social and emotional wellness of kids as well.” – David Knaap, Principal LMS

That’s where bringing in Nick Jackson and his powerful  “I AM SPEAK LOVE” message fits in. This is the fifth year for David Knaap in his role with LMS, and he was aware Nick Jackson had done some presentations with Loveland schools before. Knaap has been impressed with Jackson and his message.

“It’s kind of his business motivational speaking around his focus of “Speak Love” which really is encouraging open, honest dialogue or taking care of one another,” Knaap said. “He highlighted some elements for us around the TEAM idea which is Trust, Empathy, Accountability and Motive. I think Nick’s mission is very aligned with our mission or providing resources and support for our students that empower them to be good to themselves, good to each other and provide a really positive culture for our school.”

With thanks to the Loveland M/INT PTSA for sponsoring Nick Jackson and this opportunity for students and families next Tuesday evening, September 10, 2024 from 6:30-7:15 p.m. in the LMS Auditorium, you are invited to come see and hear for yourselves his “I AM SPEAK LOVE” message. What will your hear and see when you come?

“Nick provides a really positive message that gets us excited to do the work of school and raising students here to be the best version of themselves,” said Knaap. “As a parent, I look to Nick’s message and I see the potential and impact supporting my own kids at home. I think Nick does an amazing job really amplifying the student’s voice to be a part of that process. I expect him to do the same with our parents and families at our family presentation as well.”

Lara Ferrer echoes the words of LMS principal David Knaap and adds some of her own insight as well.

“We all have a social responsibility to help any child that’s struggling,” Ferrer said. “He (Jackson) really has thrown out this lifeline; this is an avenue we can take to help build that trust, continue to give each other empathy, understanding what that means and yes, accountability for everyone, administrators, teachers, parents, bus drivers – everyone has to be accountable to say what they mean and mean what they say. Don’t brush off any child that comes to you. Take the time to invest in that child.”
