LOVELAND, OH (September 19, 2022) – Taking a look back at a big rivalry matchup on the high school gridiron this past Friday, sees the Crusaders of Moeller bringing down the Bombers of St. Xavier in a 20-17 come-from-behind win.

With special thanks to Jonathan Gonzalez for videography, editing and highlight reel production, here is the game story from Friday, September 16, Crosstown Showdown featuring rivals Moeller H.S. and St. Xavier H.S.:

In a classic GCL matchup, the Crusaders came out on top downing the Bombers by a final score of 20-17. While Moeller held a 6-3 lead late in the first half, a St. X QB sneak for a TD on the last play of the half gave the bombers at 10-6 lead going into the locker room for the break. The Bombers held onto the lead going into the fourth quarter with neither team putting points on the board in a scoreless third quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter, St. X was driving for a score to add to their lead when a Moeller interception inside the 5-yard line killed the scoring opportunity. A TD run by the Crusaders’ Jordan Marshall (#24) later put Moeller back in front 13-10. That lead was short-lived though as the Bombers came right back to regain the lead 17-13 on a TD pass from Jack O’Malley to Jamaal Sharp (#82). Moeller answered in see-saw fashion on the very next drive. Facing a 4th down with 8 yards to go, Crusader QB Luke Dunn connected with #24 Jordan Marshall again for a passing touchdown to take the lead and ultimately the victory 20-17. The Bombers were driving at the end, but came up short on a fourth down.
