MILFORD/MIAMI TWP., OH (June 2, 2o21) – The beloved Frontier Days parade and festival in Milford are back and better than ever, marking the 59th anniversary of this fun start to summer!

Break your COVID “fast” by coming out to the first big festival in the Greater Cincinnati area following a year on pause. You will be able to see countless businesses and organizations ride through the parade, listen to amazing local bands, all while eating some of your favorite festival treats!

The festival kicks off with the parade on Thursday, June 3 at 6:30 PM, starting at the Milford Shopping Center on Lila Avenue and ending on Main Street, downtown Milford. Between 80-100 entries will participate. The festival and the band “Counting Skeletons” will follow until 10 PM. On Friday, the festivities will start at 5 PM, followed by the band “Country Thunder” from 8-11 PM. For the last day, Saturday, June 5, a Makers Market featuring 35+ local crafters and makers kick off the day at 10 am, with the rest of the festival opening at noon and local favorite band “The Mondays” at 8 PM. The festival will wrap up at 11 PM. All festivities will be held at Riverside Park, 425 Victor Stier Drive, Milford, OH 45150.

Unlike many festivals throughout the world, the Milford Miami Township Chamber did not allow Frontier Days to cancel last year due to the setback of not being able to celebrate in person. We pivoted and came up with a virtual event that featured carnival food, specials to promote our local businesses, a virtual concert, and even a virtual parade, as we re-aired the 1995 Frontier Days parade.

“Frontier Days has been part of the Milford – and Greater Cincinnati – community for almost 60 years; we couldn’t let COVID break that streak,” said Charlie Evans, Vice President of the Milford Miami Township Chamber and Chairperson of the Frontier Days Committee for too many years to count. “We were excited to find a way to pivot and bring a bit of fun to our community and businesses, even while we were in the midst of a pandemic. But we’re even more excited to be back with a full-fledged festival this year!”

Due to the toughest year imaginable, for so many reasons, the festival includes some unique aspects that are going to make it one to remember! All three of the bands are local and/or members of the Milford Miami Township Chamber to showcase incredible talents from our own community. Also, more promotions will be added to further support our wonderful, well-known local businesses. Additionally, the Makers Market is brand-new and will hopefully become an annual tradition.

Gary the Lion — the FC Cincinnati mascot — will be joining us at the parade and for photos on Saturday afternoon, 3-7 PM – you don’t want to miss it!

Music features local bands, highlighting our community’s talents:

  • Counting Skeletons, Thursday June 3 7-10 PM: Frontier Days kicks off with a band that will truly rattle your bones. Vocalist Nicholas Strike loves to get families involved by having them sing and dance along!
  • Country Thunder, Friday June 4, 8-11 PM: Come out to see foot-stomping traditional and modern country and southern and classic rock!
  • The Mondays, Saturday June 5, 8-11 PM: A local favorite in Milford! Come and enjoy a blend of rock, classic rock, alternative, ska, and pop for the band’s first Saturday night at a festival since COVID!
