MILFORD, OH (April 30, 2020) – Milford Schools Superintendent Nancy House informed students and families of end of school year plans in the April “Eagle e-News” message.

House expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to families for all they’ve done to help students during the COVID-19 closure of schools. She recognized students and families for adapting to distance learning.  While she acknowledged the challenge of remote learning, it will continue for all pre-school – 11th grade students thru May 28, the last day school. Final assignments will be given by May 22, with completed work and everything to be turned in by May 28. Seniors will officially end their school year May 15.

“I am disappointed for our Class of 2020 and the celebrations that have been postponed or canceled,” said House in her e-News message. “Our high school administrators have determined the best way to honor our seniors at this time is virtually, although nothing replaces the pomp and circumstance of our typical commencement ceremony.”

The original commencement ceremony scheduled to take place in the Cintas Center on May 23 has been canceled. In place of that ceremony, Milford High School will host a virtual graduation ceremony.  Milford High School is tentatively holding August 4 as a possible date for an in-person graduation ceremony at Cintas Center.

“At 4:00 p.m. on May 23 the virtual ceremony will be streamed live via YouTube and shared on our various social media channels,” House said in her e-News message. “The ceremony will also run on ICRC TV’s live stream and television channels. After the ceremony, seniors and their families will be able to download the video from YouTube. As the ceremony date draws closer, we will share specific details for how to access it from your home.”
