This is a SUPER BOWL SPORTS SPECIAL with

Al Vermeil on Loveland Beacon Talks.

Yes Bengal fans Al was on the “other” sideline for that Super Bowl matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals led by QB Kenny Anderson and the San Francisco 49ers led by Joe Montana. More than 40 years later, Al Vermeil resides right here in Loveland with his wife Diane. The Super Bowl this year matches his old team the S.F. 49ers against the K.C. Chiefs – a team he worked with during pre-season camps this season. His experience winning a Super Bowl with the 49ers and his ties to both teams gives Al Vermeil a unique perspective during this week leading up to the big game.

Al Vermeil is the only coach to win championship rings in both the NFL (1982 S.F. 49ers) and the NBA (6-time champion Chicago Bulls). He also holds the distinction of having coached in three major league sports the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball (MLB with the Chicago White Sox). NFL Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil is his brother. Al is also a member of the USA Strength & Conditioning Coaches Hall of Fame.
