It’s a “Snow Day” for LCSD Thursday

LOVELAND, OH (February 2, 2022) – The impending winter storm severe weather has claimed another local victim – apparently the Loveland City School District has made the decision to close for Thursday, February 3, 2022 as a result of predicted sleet, ice and snow conditions.

The Loveland Tigers Twitter account @Loveland Tigers published the following “Tweet” late this afternoon:

Loveland Tigers@LovelandTigers

Loveland City School District is Closed tomorrow February 3rd.

This message is in keeping with comments from Loveland City School Superintendent Mike Broadwater earlier Wednesday.

“We will try to make the announcement sooner than later – as soon as possible,” said Broadwater. “This is a tricky situation not knowing when, and if, the rain will turn to sleet or ice, or snow. We don’t want to get the kids in the buildings and then be stuck due to changing weather conditions. We are watching closely as information becomes available.”

Broadwater said then this would be a regular snow day, not a remote learning day. Again, keeping to his word, the LCSD made the early announcement for school closure tomorrow.

School officials also confirmed the Planning Commission meeting set for 6:30 p.m. this evening (approximately 40 minutes from now) is NOT CANCELLED. The Planning Commission meeting will go on as planned Wednesday, February 2.
