The board will not be meeting in person on school grounds. The meeting is planned to be fully remote. The public can view the meeting by connecting with the following link: LCSD Board Meeting Live.

The LCSD Board of Education is expected to focus their attention wholly on the selection of an Interim Superintendent.

The person chosen will temporarily fill the role while the board conducts a thorough search for a permanent replacement for Dr. Amy Crouse who resigned in December. Names of possible candidates for the interim position will, at least, be discussed tonight. Among other sources to identify qualified candidates the BOE could reach out to the Ohio School Board Association or the Hamilton County Education Service Center for available candidates.

The board will also have to define exactly what the responsibilities will be for the interim superintendent. Those could range from taking on the full duties of the superintendent including making decisions which could impact the future direction of the school, to simply having a person fill the role of assisting the current administration in the day-to-day operations of Loveland schools. It is not likely the interim superintendent will be asked to make decisions affecting the future plans for LCSD. Whatever the role the board decides, the key is finding a capable and available candidate willing to accept the position on an interim basis.

It is not likely the board will announce an interim superintendent tonight. It is more likely they will have to meet again before any official announcement of interim superintendent will be made. It is possible the board may also begin discussions determining the formal search process for the hiring of a new permanent Superintendent to guide the Loveland City School District for the future.
