Lorenz has been serving as board President since the resignation of her predecessor Art Jarvis in the spring of 2020. Kevin Dougherty was elected to serve as Vice- President replacing Michele Pettit in that role. Pettit will continue to serve as a board member through at least December 31, 2021 when her current elected term is set to expire. Dougherty was one of two new board members appointed to serve upon the resignation of Jarvis and subsequent resignation of former board member Ned Portune. Both are serving out terms set to expire on December 31, of this year.

Beside the election of officers, the remainder of the school board meeting was focused on annual resolutions. Additionally, the board discussed commissions and what other board efforts would be for the coming year. The board plans to request community engagement for input on Loveland City School District goals and future commitments.

The next meeting for the BOE is scheduled for Tuesday, January 12. While no interim superintendent has yet been named to replace Dr. Amy Crouse, it is expected the board will address filling the void left after the resignation of Dr. Crouse in December. Members of the school board have also expressed plans to conduct a thorough search process to find a permanent replacement for LCSD Superintendent.
