Members of LCSD Board of Education continue executive session interviews to fill vacancies on BOE

LOVELAND, OH (May 8, 2020) – The Loveland City School District Board of Education is in thier third day of executive session interviews of interested candidates to fill two vacancies created by the recent resignations of BOE members Art Jarvis and Ned Portune.

In an news release from Loveland Schools on May 1, it was announced the school board plans to fill the vacancies in their scheduled meeting May 12. The release also stated plans for the meetings this week which began Wednesday, May 6. Further, it was noted additional meetings could be scheduled if necessary as the board goes through the process of interviews. 

According to BOE president, Dr. Kathryn Lorenz, they received 36 letters of interest. Since then, two of the individuals expressing interest withdrew from consideration. Ultimately, members of the LCSD Board of Education are interviewing 34 interested parties for appointment to fill the two vacancies on the five-member board. Lorenz indicated 22 interviews have been completed with 12 more interviews remaining as the day began Friday, May 8, 2020.

As a reminder, the Board of Education for Loveland City Schools will hold its already scheduled regular meeting on May 12th at 6 p.m. virtually per HB197 and the current Stay at Home Order.
