Joint Statement from Mike Broadwater, Superintendent and Megan Little, Loveland Education Association President:

The Loveland City Schools Board of Education voted 5-0 to approve the Loveland Education Association (LEA) contract during the Board Meeting Tuesday, August 31, 2021. This follows LEA members overwhelmingly voting in favor of the contract during a meeting on Monday, August 16th, 2021.

The contract runs for a period of two years, from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2023, and accomplishes three goals: bringing our district’s salaries in alignment with other local districts, converting to a new salary schedule, and generating long-term money savings for the district.

There is a 0% base pay percentage increase for LEA members during the contract, which will bring Loveland City School District teacher salaries into the 75-80% percentile compared to similar surrounding districts. The salary schedule has been changed to a 27-step schedule from the current 20-step schedule. This puts it more in line with the State Teacher Retirement System (STRS) which requires teachers to work more years before they are eligible to retire with full benefits. The 0% base pay increase, combined with the salary schedule change will mean long-term savings for the district.

The contract is the result of months of work involving the district leadership and LEA, with both sides dedicated to reaching a solution that meets our community’s shared goals of academic excellence, collaboration, and fiscal stewardship.
