LOVELAND, OH (February 1, 2021) – The City of Loveland announced today the Loveland Police Department is hiring. 

In a press release sent out earlier today, the City of Loveland announcement the Police department is hiring included details on positions available, how to apply, when to apply, the hiring process and salary range. 

HERE IS FULL TEXT OF THE INFORMATION RELEASED FROM THE OFFICE OF CITY MANAGER DAVE KENNEDY THROUGH MARKETING COORDINATOR KRISTA ROSE:

  • Annual pay is $66,071 to $80,974 with excellent benefits
  • High School Diploma or GED and OPOTA Certification required at the time of appointment
  • Extra test credit for education, prior law enforcement, and/or military service for entry level candidates
  • Hiring process includes a written test, oral test, background investigation, interviews, truth verification test, psychological assessment, drug test, and medical exam. 
  • LATERAL OFFICERS: Lateral Candidates are considered current full-time State of Ohio Peace Officers or Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers with at least one year full-time police patrol experience. Lateral Candidates are exempt from the written test and will proceed directly to the oral test. Higher starting salary and vacation credit may apply. Lateral Candidate applications are available at lovelandoh.gov/formcenter February 1-26, 2021.
  • ENTRY-LEVEL/NON-LATERAL OFFICERS: Entry level/non-laterals are required to take a written test through the National Testing Network (nationaltestingnetwork.com) and submit the results by February 21, 2021. Candidates with passing scores will be contacted and asked to fill out the Non-Lateral application before February 26. Part-time officers and corrections officers are required to take the written test.
